Acceptable Use Policy

This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") governs your use of the services provided by Writi ("we," "us," or "our") at https://www.writi.app. By using our Services, you agree to comply with this AUP. Violation of this policy may result in suspension or termination of your account.

1. General Acceptable Use

You agree to use Writi only for lawful purposes and in accordance with our Terms and Conditions. You are responsible for all content you create, upload, or share through the Services.

2. AI Features — Acceptable Use

Writi provides AI-powered features including text generation, writing assistance, image generation, AI-powered quizzes and flashcards, YouTube summarization, and voice transcription. These features are powered by third-party AI providers including OpenAI, Google (Gemini), and Anthropic (Claude).

When using AI features, you agree to:

• Use AI-generated content responsibly and in compliance with all applicable laws
• Review and verify AI-generated content before relying on it for important decisions
• Not use AI features to generate content that violates this AUP or applicable law
• Comply with the terms and policies of the underlying AI service providers (OpenAI, Google, Anthropic)

3. Prohibited Content

You may not use Writi, including its AI features, to create, generate, upload, store, or distribute any of the following:

• Sexually explicit or NSFW content: Nude, pornographic, sexually suggestive, or otherwise explicit material, whether text or image-based, including AI-generated content
• Child safety violations: Any content that exploits or endangers minors, including child sexual abuse material (CSAM)
• Hate speech and harassment: Content that promotes violence, discrimination, or hatred against individuals or groups based on race, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, or other protected characteristics
• Violence and self-harm: Content that glorifies, incites, or provides instructions for violence, terrorism, or self-harm
• Misinformation and deception: Deliberately false or misleading content designed to deceive, defraud, or manipulate others, including deepfakes
• Malware and exploits: Malicious code, phishing content, or materials designed to compromise computer systems or steal personal information
• Intellectual property violations: Content that infringes on copyrights, trademarks, or other intellectual property rights of third parties
• Illegal activities: Content that promotes, facilitates, or provides instructions for illegal activities, including drug manufacturing, weapons creation, or fraud
• Spam and abuse: Automated bulk content generation, spam, or abusive use of AI features intended to circumvent usage limits or degrade service for others

4. AI Image Generation — Content Safety

Writi's AI image generation feature includes content moderation filters to prevent the creation of prohibited content. These filters are mandatory and cannot be disabled. Specifically:

• All image generation requests are screened for prohibited content at the prompt level
• Safety filters are applied to all AI-generated images to block sexually explicit, violent, or otherwise harmful content
• Attempts to bypass content filters or generate prohibited content may result in immediate account suspension

You are responsible for the prompts you submit and the content you generate. Do not attempt to use prompt engineering techniques to circumvent safety measures.

5. AI-Generated Content Disclaimer

AI-generated content (text, images, summaries, quizzes, flashcards) is produced by third-party AI models and may contain errors, inaccuracies, or biases. Writi does not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or fitness for any particular purpose of AI-generated content. You are solely responsible for reviewing, verifying, and appropriately using any AI-generated content.

6. Account Abuse and Usage Limits

You may not:

• Create multiple accounts to circumvent free tier usage limits
• Use automated tools, bots, or scripts to access the Services or AI features
• Share account credentials or allow multiple individuals to use a single account
• Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code or AI models used by the Services
• Resell, redistribute, or sublicense access to the Services or AI features

7. Enforcement

We reserve the right to investigate and take appropriate action against any violations of this AUP, including but not limited to:

• Issuing warnings
• Temporarily or permanently suspending access to specific features
• Terminating your account
• Reporting violations to law enforcement where required by law

8. Reporting Violations

If you encounter content or behavior that violates this Acceptable Use Policy, please report it to us at support@writi.app.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Acceptable Use Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the Services after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
